Biography Hailing from San Antonio, Texas, but raised in a Nigerian household, the 22 year old MC reps Nigeria and the 2-1-0 to the fullest as evidenced by the received release of his first mixtape titled The Big Bang Theory; and the highly anticipated release of his first album entitled Home Grown; The artist: Rukus It started while doing dishes in a tiny four-bedroom house which serves as home for a family of seven on San Antonio's northwest side. An attempted freestyle turned to writing in a notebook. That notebook pages became filled with songs and pretty soon the block was talking about RUKUS. It was all just a hobby back in 1999 as RUKUS rocked ciphers, before he hit the state in College Station in 2001 to open up for a special showing of famed movie producer Spike Lee's hip-hop movie Bamboozled. Afterwards, Spike pulls RUKUS aside backstage and said You were really tight, man. With the singles Come on and Drop receiving spins in the Houston area and airplay on KVJM 103.1, RUKUS has begun to receive flood of calls and emails from record label representatives. Having finished recording his 2nd album, RUKUS is more focused than ever and expects an even bigger splash in the clubs and on the radio with the hit singles Here I Come and Ride With Me. In addition, he wowed African crowds everywhere with his remixed rendition of African Queen.Look for this talented young star to continue making waves in 2005 as his exposure ventures outside the 3rd coast and to a radio near you. Refusing to abandon his African roots, RUKUS speaks of his upbringing on the track Home Grown The story begins in on these shores/ A little more than 4 years after Nigeria's war/ Pops came, snow, rain, 100 dollars to his name/ Couple of shirts and pants, moms picture in his chain.
