Le Soul.

Introduction-
I go by the name of Le Soul born as Wole Fagbayi. I was born in Lagos state Nigeria. I am a graduate of Economics from Babcock University. I’m an R n B singer / songwriter with an unquenchable passion for music. When I am not doing music, I love to play basketball and travel.

How I got into music
I have always had a passion for music and discovered that I had the talent to do so at an early age. I took part in a lot of singing competitions growing up and didn’t do too badly. I took my time and honed my skills constantly singing at karaoke bars where I always got really good comments about my voice. My parents brought me up to always develop on one’s individual talents and passion so I decided to do just that…and so here I am (smiles).

Influences
I grew up on a lot of old and new school R n B/ Soul music, so naturally I am influenced by some of the great R&B legends like Teddy Pendegrass, Alexaxander O’neal, Marvin Gaye, Boys II Men, Maxwell, Trey Songs and a multitude of others. I sing R n B / soul music because it so inspiring and messages are delivered in such a soothing manner that you can’t help but listen.

Growing up influences
I was very close to my mum and she brought me up to always respect and love women. So when you listen to a lot of my tracks you will notice that there’s a lot of emphasis on the importance of love and also respecting women. Love conquers all things and women are the gate way to life; so you’ve just got to respect that.

The name Le soul
Ok now that’s an extremely funny…or should I say providential story. I started out as WoleSoul, and I was performing at a Karaoke bar on one of my trips abroad. After I finished performing, I was approached by a french couple who wanted to know my name and when I told them, the lady couldn’t pronounce Wole so she just said that she would call me Le soul instead because my voice was soothing to her soul. I kind of liked how that sounded and subsequently chose to be known by that sobriquet.

Le soul and Guepard records
To me even though they are relatively new on the scene, Guepard Records has all the makings of a fantastic record label. From the way they treat their artists right down to the way they execute their projects, they are always on point. They are really professional and demand 100% from all their artists and they help you deliver just that through various ways. For example, before I even started recording I had to be certified by a vocal coach whom i still work with. Most of all with Guepard records I don’t feel like im signed to a label that just dictates to you what they want it feels more like a family. I am comfortable and that allows me to bring out the best in me.

Collaboration
While I was recording my verses for “Top of the Line” the producer (Wazbeat) and I decided that with that particular kind of beat, we would need someone that doesn’t do R&B to give the track a different dimension. I had always wanted to collabo with PyPe because I think he’s a fantastic and very talented artist so I discussed with my label, and  they contacted Pypes management, sent him the beat, he liked it and like they say…the rest is history.

Trybesmen
I have been friends with Dr Sid and the rest of the Trybesmen from way back so when I was asked to do some hooks for some of their tracks then about 6 years ago I was really excited  and honored; they are really talented young men. We also performed together at the launch of one of StylPlus’ albums which is one of my memorable moments coming up as an artist. And after all of that, like I said earlier, I have been honing and perfecting my skills as a singer and entertainer.

Favourite album 2010
There are quite a lot of them but let me narrow it down to Usher’s Raymond vs Raymond album and Trey songs album. Both in my opinion are straight fire. Also the new album from Tu face is just absolutely phenomenal.

Expectations from Le soul
Simply put by the grace of God as well as with hard work, the public should expect a whole lot of great music, carefully crafted to entertain, soothe and inspire!
