Tell us about yourself (Real Name, Age, Educational Status…etc)??

Ans: My real name is Ola Modupe… I am presently a 300 level student of Creative Arts at the University of Lagos… I’m the forth of five children… I’m Christian

How did the name “Mo Cheddah” come up?

Ans: My nickname growing up was actually Mo.. way before I got into music and all my friends and family just called me Mo., short for Modupe. The Cheddah bit got added during my early rap sessions in the studio when I would always sign out my verses with “truly yours, Mo Cheddah”. It kinda stuck.

How long have you been in the Entertainment scene?

Ans: I have been doing music for over 7 years, but I guess I started getting noticed in the entertainment circuit 4 years ago

What song was your first appearance?

Ans: the first song I appeared was of course a knight-house song back in the day called ‘krazy’. The crew loved my voice and delivery and decided to put me on other joints. But I guess the track that was my official jump-off was ‘the finest’ featuring Teeto, Sauce kid and myself for the Knight house Street Scriptures Project.

What Genre of music are you into?

Ans: Right now I am known for my pop/hip-hop style, but I experiment a lot with different genres of music

What record label are you?

Ans: I am signed exclusively to Knight house Ent.

Any Albums coming up soon?

Ans: My album “The Franchise Celebrity” will be released in August so watch out, but for now there’s the Street Scriptures Vol1…

A Female Artist in the University Of Lagos..how do you cope with the BUZZ from the Boys(Goons) ???

Ans: I’m always in and out of sch, really have no free time as such… As a girl in Uni you will have to cope with advances from boys all the time anyway so its not really different from what my friends have to deal with. But with male fans I understand that they will want to identify with you and you have to be political about it. All in all I haven’t had any weird experiences…

Are you in a relationship?

Ans: That’s censored lol…

Where do you see the Entertainment Industry in the next 5 years?

Ans: we are breaking into the international scene fast.. and at this rate in 5years we would be calling the shots worldwide. People from all over will start giving Nigerian music the respect it deserves. Locally I see a lot of great new artistes and music being done and enjoyed by nigerians… We are raising the bar!

Your Advice for the Upcoming Female Artists?

Ans: Focus is the word! And a quote from Sasha P.. “keep your head up, legs closed and eyes open”

Any shows your Fans should look forward to?

Ans: A lot! I thank the fans for listening to my music and supporting me. I have lots of shows, appearances & even a couple of things outside music.
