#OneVerse #1; Man’s Greed – Juzt Courage

 

 

The song is not exceptional, but its a nice song. I’ll just have to wait and see what he releases next. This article is just about a verse from the song which to me is the best verse, lyrically and content-wise. Juzt Courage tries and succeeds in painting a good picture of the negative effects of “Man’s Greed” on other humans and he focuses on our nation. I’m not going to go into it since it’s not a song review.

Verse 1:

My pen bleeds, inspired by man’s greed
Plus the near impossibility of making ends meet
How some have plenty, not having to fret
Why some are just surviving, others are starving to death
Our leaders are ‘riggers’, and real guys are ‘feeders’
Real lies is what these medias dey feed us
Breaking news are diversions designed to block us
But no matter how current, their news o fit shock us
And for a country dats about my mummy’s age
Our roads, power and schools are in sorry states
Oh, what a shame?? 90% of us live in pains
And our leaders dey put our money for their purse like say ma their gain
And if we too complain, dem go call us garrulous
Say we no get simple respect for our rulers
Truthfully, we no vote them in, but them dey rule us
Dey fool us, dey differentiate us like calculus

The first line is about his inspiration which is of course the effects of man’s greed around him.
Then he talks about the inequality and the gap between the rich and the poor.
Those that “live” and those that “survive” and those that die.
Then he delves fully into the next issue; some of the effects of man’s greed on the governance of our country and the behaviour of some of our “leaders” and how they put “our” money in their purses. After how many years of independence, how much infrastructure do we have, that is actually functioning properly.

The verse paints a clear picture of what man’s greed has done to our country.

Although i think a little bit of paranoia was displayed on that line “breaking news are diversions designed to block us”. It simply means that the media misinforms us.

This verse makes me think about what this country will be like in the next 20-30 years; i think but i do not worry.

 

I’m hoping for a sequel track.
